Horizon Science Acad Cleveland Reviews

HSA is a great school. It keeps the students on task and gives them a good education.

I graduated from HSA in 2003. It is now 2007 and I am graduating from college with a 4-year degree. The people at HSA went above and beyond to make sure I was going to succeed after my completion there. The teachers care, no matter what, as long as the students and parents give the same in return. They even encourage starting college classes before you graduate, and if you didn't know it's free to do so! There are many extracurricular activities that are unique and mind enriching. If a student has a legitimate idea for an after-school activity, he or she can pursue that and make it happen. Parents: you have to be involved and care about what your child does to be able to get the most out of HSA, and be proud after he or she leaves!

Horizon is the best for free. Highly recommended.

this school has a great academic schedule for students this is a plus school!

I believe this school has great potential.

HSA is one of the better charter schools. Sure, it's not as fancy or large as some public schools (no library/gym/not many after school activities), but it's had great improvements since it's inception, and it fairs better than other charter schools. It's a safe place where parents can send their children. The staff is helpful and encouraging, the test scores are improving, and the administration is strong. Consider HSA if you're worried about the current state of Cleveland Public schools.

HSA is the best school for students. WHY? Students can do what they want to do in science. School is like home school. All teachers take care of all students one by one. If you want your children to go University , HSA would be one of the best school.

They have no activities, the teachers are not very helpfful and alot of the students hate it there.

As a student that has been at Horizon since the first opening, I can say that I've witnessed alot of improvements throughout the years. This is my last yr and the staff is very helpful when it comes to finding college information. They really care about everyone graduating and getting accepted into a college. Teachers are always willing to help and if more parents took advantage of being involved Horizon would be even better!

HSA is a fairly young school catering to 6-12 grade students. It is a charter school paid for by the State of Ohio. Recently the school has allowed a public school teacher head the parent involvement committee and it has helped a great deal. Parents are able to voice their concerns and have the school board hear about it. The only concern I have is that most of the teachers are of foreign decent and have a bit of the problem communicating. Several parents are asking that the teachers, especially the math teachers to take a summer english class to get better in english for communication purposes. Math is fine but if the child has a problem understanding the english, it hurts in the learning process, no matter how nice they are or talented in math/science. Overall, I like the no-nonsense atmosphere. Also, the principal is cooperative.

HSA has given my child the education and safety that was not provided in my public school system. The curriculum is focused on science, math, language arts, and computer technology. The teachers encourage the students to excel. They stay after school and come in on weekends to tutor or help students with science projects or other academic competitions. I am very happy with this school.

Bad school! This is tyhe first school my son has gone to where he has recieved D's and F's and a low Grade Point Average.
